Allegheny River Trail in Clarion County has received a DCNR grant to acquire the 1.94 acre Hunt Bros. parcel for $67,500 + costs, which is located between the railroad right of way and the river.  This parcel will be the Trailhead for the south end of the Emlenton to Foxburg gap and a small public park.  Trail uses will include major parking, signage, kiosk, meeting space, a possible Gazebo, buttressing of the railroad right of way, slope stability, stormwater management, and ADA compliance.  The small public park might include benches, a fishing area, a kayak-canoe launch ramp, a removable dock for powerboats to tie up to give access to Foxburg, and other ideas have been floated as well.

A committee is being formed to spear-head planning for the public park.  If you want to serve on this small committee, please speak up.
